Throughout the year we are always on the lookout for that star student who works extremely hard in all of their classes. This is a child you attends all of their dance classes regularly, who is respectful to their teachers and peers and shows their passion for dance. We announce the "Student Of The Year" at our end of year concert and the selected student receives a trophy as well as their name and photo framed at the studio and here on our website.

2023 - Hayley Dorrington-Davies

Age: 17 years
Joined Showtime HMS: 2010
Classes at time of award: Advanced Jazz, Ballet Exam Elementary, Advanced Acro, Advanced Contemporary, Lyrical, & Advanced Hip Hop.

Hayley joined Showtime HMS at age 4 and has taken classes in every style of dance throughout her time here. In just 12 months Hayley progressed through the acro grades at Showtime and has been one of our most advanced acro dancers ever since. In 2016 Hayley successfully auditioned for our elite jazz troupe and spent the next few years competing with her team at local dance competitions and fetes.

When we started running SDA exam classes Hayley was keen to join the ballet program and has completed up to Grade 5 with Honors. In 2024 she will take her Elementary ballet exam which includes dancing en pointe. Hayley has also been a part of our student teacher program mentoring the younger students and being a great role model for them.

Hayley is a pleasure to have in class, she is hard working and dedicated to improving her skills. If you ask her to try a new trick or want someone to throw in the air in a lift, Hayley will give it a crack! And if it doesn't work the first time, she will try it again and again to get it right. This determination along with her friendly attitude and beautiful manners made Hayley an easy pick for our 2023 Student Of The Year.
