Students Excel in State Dance Association Exams

At Showtime HMS Performing Arts, we are proud to announce that our Grade 5 Jazz and Grades 4 & 5 Ballet students recently took their State Dance Association exams, and we couldn't be prouder of their achievements! All of our students performed beautifully and passed their exams, which is a testament to their hard work and dedication.

Our jazz and ballet exam classes are designed to help our students improve their dance skills, strength, and flexibility. We work on a range of technical exercises, and each exercise is developed to help our students improve their dance technique. In addition to learning the theory of their chosen dance style, students also learn correct terminology and anatomy. The exams themselves require students to perform multiple different dances, which showcase their versatility as dancers.

We are thrilled to report that all of our Grade 5 Jazz and Grades 4 & 5 Ballet students passed their State Dance Association exams with flying colours. We are incredibly proud of their hard work and dedication, and we believe that their achievements reflect the quality of education that we provide at Showtime HMS Performing Arts. Our students put in countless hours of practice to perfect their skills, and it is truly inspiring to see their efforts pay off.

We are also excited to announce that our Jazz grades 2 & 4 students will take their exams later this year. We have no doubt that they will do just as well as their peers and continue to make us proud.

At Showtime HMS Performing Arts, we believe that it is important to acknowledge and celebrate the achievements of our students. All students who receive a mark of 75% (Highly Commended/Honours/Honours with Distinction) and above are awarded a small gift at our end of year concert to acknowledge their hard work and achievements.

25th Anniversary Concert 2022

This year due to covid restrictions early on in the year we made the decision to not have a mid-year concert and only have one big end of year concert to celebrate our 25th Anniversary. The students were really eager to get on stage come December 17th and show their families and friends what they had been working on all year.

This year we decorated our photo wall with some silver celebration balloons and had all students, junior and senior, performing together in the one concert. It was a wonderful day and everyone performed so well. We finished the night with a bang, with confetti poppers during our finale dance which was kept a surprise from all the students just to make it even more fun. It was also a privilege to have one of our ex-teachers Bree Smith join us on stage singing the finale.

Alinta Christmas Pageant 2021

In 2020 we took a break from performing in the Christmas pageant due to Covid-19 but this year we were back!

Saturday December 4th marked the occasion. The city of Perth was all lit up and families were lined up in the streets to watch the performances. A select few of our Showtime students participated and were dressed up in Christmas colours, a mix of sparkly green and red costumes. Dancing to Christmas carols down the streets of Perth is a great way to get in to the Christmas spirit and we love being a part of the Alinta Christmas Pageant each year.

We would like to congratulate our students on how well they danced and represented Showtime HMS.

Champion Lakes Christmas Party

In December, our students received the opportunity to perform for our local community at a Christmas Party at Champion Lakes. The locals loved our performers as much as our students loved dancing amongst them in a joyous family event. Our Jazz exam 2, jazz exam 3, beginner hip hop and pre-primary jazz classes all performed beautifully with smiles all around! Well done to all those who participated!

Dancing With The Stars Competition

In the early months of the year Showtime students got the opportunity to be involved in Channel 10’s TV show competition, filming and submitting a fun and creative dance video cheering on our favourite competitor Angie Kent!

Angie has starred in various reality TV shows including Gogglebox, The Bachelorette, and I’m a Celebrity Get Me Out of Here. Our students used this as inspiration to create a relatable and entertaining video for Angie. We also learnt of Angie’s love for dogs and her foster care of numerous pups, so we even let Max, Ms Rita’s dog join in on the fun in our video!

Angie loved our video commenting “Go Girls!!! I Love this” on our Instagram page and also sent an additional message complimenting our cute Max and expressing her excitement to see the full video! Our students had lots of fun, experiencing new levels of creativity and involvement in the Australian Dance TV show, Dancing With the Stars!

Christmas Pageants 2019

On the 6th and 7th of December a group of Showtime students had the chance to dance in the Armadale and Alinta Perth Christmas pageants. All dressed up in Christmas colours, sparkly green, red and candy cane costumes, our students danced down Jull Street in Armadale and St George’s Terrace in Perth with big smiles. We would like to congratulate our students on how well they danced in both pageants and represented Showtime HMS.

Kingsley Primary School Fair 2019

On the Saturday 2nd November a group of Showtime students performed at the Kingsley primary school 50th anniversary fete. Students performed a mix of routines from earlier in the year. Congratulations and well done to all students who participated and danced with large smiles while having lots of fun, as well as continuing to represent Showtime HMS to an excellent standard.
