Phly Crew Holiday Workshop

On Wednesday 5th October we held a full day workshop with our friends James Barry & Neale Whittaker from Phly Crew.

Phly Crew are a hip hop crew based in Sydney who were recently the finalists on TV show Australia's Got Talent 2016 and also reached the finals back in 2009 as a duo.

This is the 3rd consecutive year we have been lucky enough to have the boys come to Perth to work with our students and it is always a fun filled day of humor and dancing. Also teaching for our workshop were local stars Alexander Mooney (Battlegrounds Sydney & Singapore) and Shanice Thompson (Grease The Musical, Telethon).

Students participated in jazz, contemporary, hip hop, break-dance and urban technique classes and ended with a Q&A with James and Neale to learn a bit more about show business and Phly Crew history.

We are so thankful for this opportunity and hope everyone had a great time! We look forward to seeing Phly Crew next year at the Australian Dance Festival and hope to have them back at Showtime HMS in the near future.

Kwinana Dance Festival 2016

The Kwinana Dance Festival was held over the school holidays at the Koorliny Arts Centre and went over 11 days. Showtime HMS had close to 40 entries this competition season and are so proud of all those students who participated. It is never easy to get up on that stage knowing you are being judged and our students all gave it their best and represented the school well. Congratulations to everyone.

Mid Year Concert Performance

Our mid year concert was held on Saturday 4th July at the John Curtin College Of The Arts. This was the first concert for a lot of our students and who would have guessed? They all performed so well and you could see the enjoyment on their faces!
We would like to congratulate all those students who recieved the achievement awards for their class - Keep up the good work!!

St Emilies Fete Performance

On Sunday 20th March we had 35 students perform a mix of routines from 2015 at the St Emilies Primary School Fete in Canning Vale with great success. We were very excited to be a part of the first ever fete held by St Emilies and hope to be invited back again next year. Congratulations to all of the performers on your hard work.

Students will also be performing at the upcoming Hills Heartbeat Festival at Southern Hills Christian College on Saturday 2nd April from 3pm. We would love to see students and parents there supporting our performing troupes.
