25th Anniversary Concert 2022

This year due to covid restrictions early on in the year we made the decision to not have a mid-year concert and only have one big end of year concert to celebrate our 25th Anniversary. The students were really eager to get on stage come December 17th and show their families and friends what they had been working on all year.

This year we decorated our photo wall with some silver celebration balloons and had all students, junior and senior, performing together in the one concert. It was a wonderful day and everyone performed so well. We finished the night with a bang, with confetti poppers during our finale dance which was kept a surprise from all the students just to make it even more fun. It was also a privilege to have one of our ex-teachers Bree Smith join us on stage singing the finale.

End Of Year Concert 2021; Dance Like No One’s Watching

Showtime HMS students "Danced Like No One's Watching" on  Saturday 18th December at the end of year concerts.

We had 120 students hit the stage over the two performances, many for their first time, and we are so proud of each and every one of them. It is such a pleasure to see all that hard work pay off and watch the students enjoy themselves being on stage and performing for their family and friends. Showtime staff love to see how students develop and improve their performance skills and confidence throughout the year and shine on stage.

Congratulations to all performers and staff that helped put on such a wonderful show. We now take a well deserved break before commencing for our 25th year in 2021!

Mid Year Concert 2021; Live Love Dance!

Students had been working hard all semester towards their mid year concert to have a spanner thrown in the works and a lockdown hit us 5 days prior to our scheduled concert date. We pushed on and continued our classes at home on Zoom as the lockdown was due to lift the morning of concert day. Sadly even though the lockdown was lifted the restrictions still meant we were not able to hold our concert on Sat 3rd July and were forced to reschedule.

Going in to school holidays this meant students had to keep practicing at home and weren’t able to have a final practice together before going on stage but you never would have picked it watching how well they performed. After 2 weeks break we were able to hit the stage on Sun 18th July at John Curtin Theatre. We are so proud of all the students who smashed it on stage after a 2 week break and some classes having to adapt their routines due to a few students being unable to make the rescheduled performance date. It really shows how committed and passionate our Showtime HMS students are.

End of Year Concert; 2020 A Year to Remember

After a year of setbacks, disappointments, and bumps in the road we finally made it to the end of the year! After having to cancel our mid-year concert our staff and students were more than excited to hold our end of year concert and commemorate a tough but triumphant year for us all.

Both our Junior and Senior concerts were held at John Curtin Theatre in Fremantle where friends and family came to watch our students showcase their hard work from throughout the year. Everyone performed exceptionally well, and we are more than proud of their efforts at the annual event. All our classes and exam classes performed routines forming a concert to remember not only how challenging this year has been but also to show the resilience and strength we gained to overcome it.

We had numerous award winners including our 2020 Student of the Year, Isabelle Portier. Isabelle is an extremely dedicated and hard-working student and her efforts this year in her dance training proves her especially worthy of this award! Congratulations Isabelle!

End Of Year Concert – SMIA Awards Night

Showtime HMS wrapped up 2019 with two huge concerts on Saturday 21st December.

Themed as a music awards night our audience members were VIP guests at the SMIA (Showtime Music Industry Awards). Who would be the best dressed star on the red carpet? Which great artists will win an award? All was revealed throughout our concert hosted by our musical theatre student Alexis.

It is such a pleasure to see how much our students enjoy being on stage and performing for their family and friends. Showtime staff love to see how students develop and improve their performance skills and confidence throughout the year and shine on stage.

Congratulations to all performers and staff that helped put on such a wonderful show. We now take a well deserved break before commencing for an even bigger year in 2020.

Australian Dance Festival Sydney Tour 2019

Showtime HMS Competitions, Concerts, Workshops , ,

In September this year, seven of our students flew over to Sydney to attend the Australian Dance Festival for a weekend of workshops with some of Australia’s best and inspiring choreographers. Friday to Sunday our students attended workshops at Sydney Olympic Park along with hundreds of dancers from across Australia.

Our students participated in workshops in a variety of styles of dance from choreographers including Marko Panzic, Stephen Tannos, the O’neill Twins, Yvette Lee, Neale Whittaker, James Barry, Cat Santos, Elly Creevy, Will Sabin, Jason Winters, Matt Lee, Michael Dameski and many more. After very long days of dancing, our students attended performances from the Resonate program, Australia’s Best Dance Crew, Australia’s Next Choreographer, as well as the Dance Around the World Solo Competitions.

To end the trip, a day was spent sightseeing in Sydney, visiting the Opera House, Sydney Harbour Bridge, Madame Tussaud's, and Luna Park. All of our students had an amazing time in Sydney learning and building our dance knowledge in such an exciting and positive environment. Despite being completely exhausted our students are already excited about returning in 2021 for another weekend of all things dance!

 

Mid-Year Concert – Ready, Jet, Go!

Saturday 6th July 2019 was one of our biggest concert days yet.

Ready, Jet, Go was a performance that took our students on the adventure of a lifetime. Our audience enjoyed the showcase of all the student’s talents as they packed their bags and set on a trip around the world. Our performances were based around songs and themes of various places around the world.

Concert days are always huge and exciting, and both the junior and senior concerts were a big success with large smiles and lots of fun. Showtime staff enjoy the satisfaction of seeing the students perform their concert pieces and the scale of improvement shown by all.
